I have done quite a bit of research before selecting this unit. Here's what I learned:
1) You CAN buy the cheap "solar" salt and the system will work perfectly fine. People try to scare you into buying "pool salt" because of micro organisms and bacteria left behind from the tiny organisms found in solar salt. Bull. The system will fire right up and kill whatever impurities there may be present at a much lower cost than "pool salt".
2) Put the Solar salt in the day before you plan on installing this unit so the water already has the dissolved salt available to convert once you install the system. My pool is a Summer Escapes brand 17' by 48" deep that I got from Sam's Club and I used 160 pounds of Solar salt.
3) By having a Summer Escapes brand pool instead of Intex I had to figure out how to adapt the supplied connectors to this non brand pool. Here's all I did:

I bought this pump about 2 weeks ago and love it. It does exactly what it is supposed to and it is trouble free, very simple to set up and makes owning a pool so much easier with maintenance free hassles. My low rating is the fact that after receiving the pump unit, I went back online to read some other reviews from different people that went really in depth on setups to make sure that I was doing everything correctly. Upon getting online, I see that the price of the same exact unit that I just bought is now $50 cheaper. I do a lot of business on Amazon and needless to say, I wasn't too happy. But, otherwise, like I said, the pump works like a dream. It would have been a 5 star rating.

This is my twelfth season for using this tiller. To prepare my garden I use an ancient Troy built that has been going strong for about 18 years now (I bought it used) and it looks as if this Mantis two stroke is going to last just as long. To be honest, I am a rather lazy gardener and the job of all jobs I hate most is cultivating and weeding. This little machine has taken away almost all of the excuses I have for not having a neat, well tended garden. There are a couple of things you should know though before purchasing this little gem:
First, this is not a machine that is suitable for breaking up new ground or ground that has not been tilled for several years. It simply is not built for that.
Secondly, you should not let your mind wonder when using this cultivator. It can take out a garden plant in a flash if you loose control over it and indeed, if you are extremely inattentive, it certainly has the capability of taking off a toe or two... Read more

I can't even remember when I bought my Mantis, but it was at least 25 years ago. It has gotten hard use every year ever since. Mantis really stands behind their lifetime tine warranty; they replaced mine totally free of charge after at least 20 years without any questions. The new machines look almost identical to my ancient one. The amazing thing is that the price has hardly gone up at all. In todays dollars, that makes it a raging bargain. The machine is light enough for almost anyone to use it, but be prepared for some serious bouncing around if your soil is rocky. It's unbelievably powerful for such a small machine. I've seen professional landscapers use it to loosen soil for planting new shrubs in some nasty, hard-packed soil. They just use it to dig down as far as the tines will reach, remove the loosened soil, and then dig down farther until they have the hole as deep as it needs to be. I have owned my Mantis tiller for nearly 8 years now. I chose Mantis because I wanted a smaller tiller that did not require a lot of storage space. I also liked what I saw on tv commercials about the Mantis. My father had a much larger tiller of another brand that took up a lot of space and was incredibly heavy (but quite sturdy). He was going to give me his tiller when he stopped gardening, but after thinking long and hard about it, I decided to get the Mantis instead. Here is what I have learned about the Mantis in that time:
1. Mechanical: The tiller works great, starts in 2-3 pulls right out of the box. It takes mixed gas at a 50/1 ratio. Never use "old" gas or gas that is not the proper ratio. Over the years I have had some minor problems with it, mostly related to starting and idling. My recommendation is to clean or change the air filter regularly. The filter is easy to get at and oftentimes clogs with dirt and dust. Change spark plug every couple years... Read more

When it was time to replace my 11 year-old Craftsman, there were a few things I knew I wanted (and a few things I didn't want) in my next mower. I wanted a quality engine with plenty of power and good over-all construction. I wanted it to have a mulching feature, and I prefer the taller rear wheels.
I didn't want my mower to be self-propelled. My 1/3 acre yard is fairly flat and easy to mow. I don't have any trouble pushing a mower around. Self-propelled mowers cost more, weigh more, and have more parts to break. But my biggest reason is you get less power to the blade because the motor is also powering the drive wheels. Just a plain ol' push mower for me, thanks!

I bought my Husqvarna 21 inch push mower with the 5.5HP Honda engine in 2003. I mow about 1 acre total of non-irrigated weeds on hilly rough terrain. I beat this mower up year after year and it's never failed to start right up and offer up plenty of power through tall grass. This year (2010) during the first mowing of the season I ran over a small tree stump and bent the crankshaft, even doing the work myself it will probably be too expensive to justify repairing a 7 year old mower but I will definitely replace it with the same thing when I get a new one. 6/11/2010 Follow-up: I was able to find a crankshaft online inexpensively which allowed me to try to do the repair myself. I am happy to report that the mower re-build project was a success and my Honda engine is purring along happily once again, may I get many more seasons of use from this very durable lawn mower.

What a great lawnmower! With a little more then 3 hours break-in time on the Honda Engine , I think it's safe to say that I got a good one. I love the sound (tone) of the engine, you can tell it's a Honda ;-) I had some deep grass to mow due to the failure of my 25 year old 5 hp Tecumseh mower RIP (served me well).
Anyhow, this Husqvarna 7021P is a serious lawn mower, for anyone that likes high performance equipment. I was very impressed with the power. The dual bearing wheels made pushing a breeze. That is my first impression. Should I have any trouble, I will be sure to post a follow-up... "No News is Good News"
20 hour update! This mower has started first pull, that includes at least a dozen times showing friends and family how easy it starts. The mower pushes nice and easy, thanks to the dual bearing wheels. The mower runs almost 2 hrs each... Read more
